Meet the Storytellers

Laura Holloway - Headshot.jpg

Laura Holloway, President

Although she’s a child of the South, raised in Tennessee with a passion for sweet tea and people who say 'y'all,' she also has more than a decade of experience in Los Angeles in the entertainment industry, and another ten years as a marketing strategist, editor, and journalist.

She grew up in Cookeville, Tennessee and spent years working behind the counter at her family’s bookstore, BookWorks, where she fell in love with business and the power that ‘story’ plays for people in their everyday lives. In 2014, she combined that love of great content with that long-earned business sense to found The Storyteller Agency, a forward-thinking boutique content marketing agency that produces meaningful, storytelling content and develops unique marketing strategies for an international clientele.

Flash forward a decade and she returned to Cookeville with her husband (also a Cookeville native) to raise their two (wild!) sons, and in late 2023, the company rebranded as Storyteller House, a home for creative marketing, strategy, and design. Laura is frequently asked to speak at conferences, meetings and workshops about the value of storytelling for business and enjoys working with groups to define the stories they will tell. You can read more about her professional experience here.

She spends her free time with her family and their 7 dogs on some rolling acreage in Tennessee. She enjoys catching lightning bugs with her kids, secret camping spots, westbound road trips, anywhere with a coastline, the smell of a campfire, yin yoga - with a heavy emphasis on the Shavasana pose, old-fashioned correspondence, carry-on-only travel, Afro-Cuban jazz, Chinese takeout, playing the piano and ukulele, and laughing as much as possible everyday. In fact, she borrows her mantra from the beloved e.e.cummings: "The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."

She’d love to hear your story. Write to her at laura@storytellerhouse.com.

Jennifer Carnevale

Jennifer, otherwise known as Jenn with two Ns, is a tattooed teacher and music-lover looking to change the world one word at a time. Living in the land of the witches in Salem, MA, she spends her day as a high school ELA teacher and puts on her writing cap when she gets home. She’s currently working on nonfiction workbooks and essays relating to relationships, self-help, and getting out of your own way.

Jenn received a dual master’s from Simmons University in Boston in Literature and Teaching. She’s worked as an adjunct for numerous colleges teaching the art and skill of writing. From fiction to creative nonfiction, from proper email etiquette to reading reflections, she does it all. She also acts as an educational content creator for various websites and loves to add flare and fun to advertising/marketing blogs and postings. Her personal writing joy is creating content for addiction recovery centers around the US in hopes of helping people seek the treatment they need and deserve.

In her free time, Jenn produces a podcast called Someone Needs to Hear It with the goal of spreading stories across the globe to create a more understanding and loving world, but she’s not all work and no play. Jenn spends most of her “off” time reading at home with her cat, Kylo, people watching at coffee shops, and traveling the world the second her teaching contract ended.

Jenn’s not your average WFH writer. She’s a free-spirited soul looking to push the boundaries of storytelling by adding authentic voice, style and love to all her projects. She believes, “Everything we do is a narrative. It’s how you frame it that dictates your life.”

She has worked for multiple companies including The Storyteller Agency, Vertical Measures, Compass Media, and Madden Media to name a few. Amy holds a Master’s in creative writing from the University of South Alabama and in publishing from George Washington University.

Amy is a work-at-home widowed mom of three young daughters and one angel son. Much of Amy’s writing revolves around the chaos, confusion, and crocodile tears of navigating work and child-rearing as a solo act; however, Amy remains eternally optimistic about life and the beauty of this world as she processes her grief and helps her daughters navigate theirs.

When she isn’t writing, Amy is an avid outdoor fitness enthusiast. She loves running, biking, swimming, and kayaking and engages in at least one of those activities every day. Amy is also a passionate home cook and culinary gardener. Like most writers, Amy is a reader who gets her literary fix on the fly through audiobooks, which she listens to while cooking, cleaning, exercising, folding endless piles of laundry...whatever it takes. Like most work-at-home moms, Amy is trying to strike the right balance between slowing down and taking it easy, and “having it all”. The results are entertaining if nothing else.
