The Storyteller Agency’s Guide to the Destin Charity Wine Auction

The Storyteller Agency’s Guide to the Destin Charity Wine Auction

Since its inception in 2005, the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) has donated over $15 million to Northwest Florida charities and has impacted the lives of over 90,000 children and young people through interaction with South Walton charities. A fabulous event characterized by a fast-paced auction, world-class wines, and unique experiences, the Destin Charity Wine Auction is not to be missed.

The Patron Dinner Experience

To begin, DCWAF is a three-day long event that coincides nicely with the South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival. The festivities for the Destin Charity Wine Auction run from Friday, April 27 starting at 6:00 p.m. to Saturday, April 28, starting at 1:00 p.m.

Patron Dinners are on April 27, and just get ready for the best meal you’ve had…maybe ever. Your dining experience starts with complimentary chauffeuring to the dinner. The dinners are held in top-tier Emerald Coast homes and restaurants. The dinner will be prepared by a world-class chef, which will naturally be paired with exquisite wines selected by world-class celebrity vintners. Each dinner gives you the opportunity to meet different wine enthusiasts and each benefits a different area charity. While many dinners are sold out, there may still be dinner packages available for this year, including:

·       Clos Du Val and O’Brien Estate hosted by Bill & Cheryl Stegbauer with Chef Scotty Schwartz. This dinner benefits The Arc of the Emerald Coast.

The Main Event: Reserve Tasting & Live Auction

The next day, the Reserve Tasting starts under a massive air-conditioned tent at Sandestin Town Center’s North Lawn at 1:00 p.m. It’s a casual affair of sampling and savoring. The de rigueur attire is “resort casual” as you stroll the lawn experiencing different varietals expertly paired with cuisine made by top local restauranteurs.

During the Reserve Tasting, you can place bids at the silent auction and “almost live” auction where there will be wines, autographed bottles, and other collectibles available to bid on. Of course, the real party starts at 3:00 p.m. with the thrilling live auction where passions for charity and fine wine run high. You’ll be able to bid on incredible vacations (each of which benefits different local charities), one-of-a-kind exotic items, and rare and distinctive wines.

Savor Every Morsel of the Weekend at the South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival

It’s hard to tell if you’re heady from the fine wine or the thrill of the live auction by Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. where you’re invited to sample more fine wine from around the world while indulging in some of the best regional cuisine at the South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival Grand Tasting. The festive party-like atmosphere is the perfect end to the weekend. Make sure to visit the Savor South Walton Culinary Village for local cuisine as you experience the different wine varietals (over 800, to be precise). The mood is set by live music and a genuinely jovial ambiance permeates Grand Boulevard’s Town Center.

The Destin Charity Wine Auction is a magical weekend characterized by festive altruism in which millions are raised to support charities that help Walton County children in need. Meeting celebrity chefs, vintners, and new friends, and tasting world-class fine wines is just one of the perks.
